Gregory Brian Cooke

Founder · Executive Producer · Filmmaker

Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side in the working-class Chatham-Avalon neighborhood, Gregory Brian Cooke developed a worldview shaped by community, culture, resilience, and the power of human connection.

That perspective continues to inform his work as a filmmaker and storyteller, giving him a unique understanding of people and the human condition across a broad spectrum of experiences.

After graduating from Saint Ignatius College Prep, Gregory earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication & Theater from Tennessee State University.

He began his professional filmmaking career in 1994 and has since built an award-winning body of work spanning feature films, national television commercials, music videos, and television programming.

Throughout his career, Gregory has worked across virtually every dimension of visual storytelling—as a director, editor, writer, camera operator, producer, executive producer, and creative leader.

His experiences working on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Iyanla, Fix My Life reinforced a fundamental belief that has remained at the center of his career: media has the power to inform, connect, challenge, heal, and transform.

That belief led Gregory to create (MUSE) Museum Culture Network, a platform dedicated to celebrating the power of story and the people who inspire them.

For Gregory, storytelling is more than entertainment. Great stories create connections. They bring people together, build community, expand our understanding of one another, and allow us to imagine what is possible.

Through story, we explore culture, identity, experience, and possibility—and in doing so, we have the opportunity to shift perceptions.
